The Cannelton Locks and Dam is a tainter-gated dam with two locks on the Ohio River, on the border between the U.S. states of Indiana and Kentucky.The dam is 2 miles (3.2 km) southeast of Cannelton, Indiana.Construction of the locks began in July 1963. The lower end of the Markland Pool is in the general area of Cincinnati, Ohio. Indiana Route 156 is flooded along long stretches. The river is at 30 feet at Cinci and still coming up so Markland will have good current and skips may be there for the catching. Much of Main Street in Carrolton is flooded, with stretches of Route 42 in Kentucky and Route 56 in Indiana under several feet of water due to backwater flooding into creeks.
